We only live a very short driving distance from Frankfurt, but aside from coming back from the airport, we had never actually been before. Greg is a big car enthusiast so it seemed natural to check out one of the biggest car shows in the world. Also, the very first Chipotle in Germany just opened last month in Frankfurt, so of course we had to go. Say what you will, but German food is just not good in my opinion.
We also got to see (but not touch) a ton of crazy expensive and concept cars.
When we took a break to get lunch at Chipotle, I warned Greg that we should ask to be sure we could re-enter with our tickets. He insisted we could, so we left. Turns out, you can't, as we were told by the guards at the entrance when we tried to return. They let us in anyway because Frankfurt is clearly more understanding of confused American tourists than the town we live in. Either way, one of these days Greg will learn to listen to me.
Greg was pretty excited that we got to touch and sit in some of his favorite $100,000+ vehicles.
The whole place was insanely crowded, so we mostly had to keep walking the whole time to keep from being run over. We saw almost the whole show except for the Audi area which was in it's own building and had an hour long line just to get inside. We also skipped the building with Mercedes-Benz and Smart because it was a little out of the way for us and Greg didn't care to see that area.
Greg really loved Frankfurt, probably because it's a much more modern and English-friendly city than where we live right now. We'll probably go back more often for other events.
